Excellent! It keeps the X-ONU-SFPP cool and just using a 5v adapter in a room we’re temperature is around 26C. Same room without this cooler, the stick module gets crazy hot that I cannot even touch it. Burns my fingers. So, protect your investment and get the dam cooler or any other fan. Recommend this 100%! 👍
The only downside I see of this product is that is meant for cooling either SFP+ port 6 or 7, not both. It should come with a bigger duct to blow both SFP+ ports at the same time. It’s my humble opinion.
I was using a small USB-powered desk fan pointing at the SFP on my UCGF and it did a decent job off keeping it cool. Then I received my Exen cooler. plugged it in using USB C-to-C for higher power. Incredibly, the temperatures on my SFP have dropped at least 5° across-the-board within minutes after plugging it in. The fan sound is a bit louder at the higher power, but it's still a lot quieter than the desk fan. Great design, excellent performance. Highly recommended.
Looks like a good fit for the Cloud Fiber Gateway with overlapping edge rounding and similar color, but the texture is not a good match between a 3D printed part and whatever the router is, maybe injection molding? And the frequency pitch on the included blower fan is a bit high and ever so slightly annoying if you have to keep it in a room while you work. But, I can see the temperature's managed, so if you need it you'll know.
It's a perfect fit for the UCG Fiber and UXG Fiber. (I tried it on both) Does a great job keeping the SFP+ fiber module cool.
Very high quality printed part that matches really well with the UCG-Fiber.
I paired it with an old iPad charger that only delivers 5 volts of power. In my testing, a 9V charger barely made the module cooler, but was substantially louder. I’m really happy with this cooler.
Before ordering my SFP+ module I already knew the importance of having some form of cooling not just for a long life span but also prevent overheating as reliability can be affected if optical temps get too high.
Not having 3D printer and much less the tinkering aptitude to source the components and build a cooler myself, I was delighted to see EXEN not only had me covered but also designed a custom cooler for my very own UCG-Fiber router.
Installation was very easy thanks to the the strong adhesive fasteners, just peel the film off and align the curved edge with the UCG's and hold/press it in place for a solid mount, connect a USB-C cable to power and you're done.
The fan is barely audible to me running at 5V from a standard USB port off my UPS and keeps my highest temps below 55c even in my stuffy network closet.
The build quality feels very solid as well, definitely not a cheap 3D print, I believe he uses some kind of glass resin filament and I think the design looks pretty slick!
Keeps it cool to the touch!
Works perfectly. I upgraded from a Dream Router 7 (UDR7) to a Cloud Gateway Fiber (UCGF), and the fan solution I was using on the UDR7 just didn't look that great on the UCGF. Coincidentally, the fan that EXEN includes in this product is exactly the same fan I was using on the UDR7, and it has always worked well to keep my WAS-110 cool, so finding the same fan in EXEN's cooler was a pleasant surprise.
I've had EXEN's cooler running on my UCGF for about a week now, and it's been absolutely fine. This is a well-designed fan assembly that blends right in, and I couldn't ask for a better solution.
Amazing, brings the module down to a safe to touch temperature and barely audible
Great fan works well to keep was 110 cool
Great product and design. Fits neatly over the Unifi UXG/UCG SFP+ WAN port to cool the 8311 module. Reasonably quiet even at the higher USB-C 9V speed.
The fan works perfectly fine. The housing feels very solid. I am using it with 5v phone charger and it is enough to keep the X-ONU-SFPP module cool to the touch.
Works very well to keep the X-ONU-SFPP module cool, temps were above the suggested levels without this. As soon as I connected this, they dropped within the acceptable range, around 55 °C for CPU0/CPU1 and 44 °C for optic temperature.
Keeps it under 50 Celsius, it was over 60-70 without it.
Great product, consider adding a simple USB charger as a purchase to go along with it, or maybe even a PoE to USB-C adapter. Keeps my SFP cool.
Working beautifully, great quality!
Fantastic store. Super fast shipping and hardware is exactly what I expected. Great overall seller.
Good product!
Great little device, worked perfectly, shipped quickly.
Fantastic little add-on. The design is simple but really well thought out, and it fits the Cloud Gateway perfectly like it was meant to be there from day one. Most importantly, it actually does what it claims. The X-ONU-SFPP runs noticeably cooler, and the airflow is spot on. Install took all of about two minutes, no fuss, no weird adjustments. If you’re running fibre and want to keep temps in check without making your setup look hacked together, this is a no-brainer.
Love the cooler. Great design. Well constructed. Fits perfectly with my UniFi Cloud Gateway Fiber. Very appreciative of the fact I can use a usb power source of my choice to give me flexibility on fan speed.
Better performance than expected while maintaining quiet operation.
